How does a silent piano work?
On a normal piano, the hammers strike the strings to create sound. When the silent piano system is switched on, the acoustics of the piano are switched off. The hammers just barely touch the strings. so-called stop rail. These sensors have a connection with the digital module in the piano. The sensors receive the signal from the keys. They use this to measure which key and how long the particular key is pressed. These sensors then control pre-built sound samples in the piano. The piano converts all sensors into a digital sound that can be heard through headphones. This digital sound is comparable to the sounds of an acoustic piano.
